Rice & Dumpling is a chinese restaurant in Springfield, Missouri. It is listed at 431 S Jefferson Ave, Springfield, MO 65806, which places it among the local businesses of Springfield that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as asian restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Springfield; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Missouri are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

Hours are published for 6 days a week. The most common schedule is 10:30 am–9 pm. It is closed on Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (417) 709-3669. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, ricendumpling.com.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.3 out of 5 from 246 reviews, which is a strong result for a chinese restaurant in Springfield and suggests consistent service.

Rice and Dumpling has quickly become one of our favorite restaurants in Springfield. Every dish we tried was incredibly fresh, flavorful- the balance of spice, citrus, and savory sauces was From classic stir-fries and spicy tofu to crispy chicken, roasted pork, fried rice, dumplings, and fresh vegetables, everything looked and tasted fantastic. The buffet was spotless, well-stocked, and constantly being refreshed, so nothing sat around getting stale. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant itself was clean and inviting. Even on a rainy day, it was the perfect place for a comforting meal. If you’re looking for authentic flavors, fresh food, and one of the best Chinese buffets in town, I can’t recommend Rice and Dumpling highly enough. I’ll definitely be coming backβ€”this place is a gem! 🌟

Long detailed backstory full of keywords with cute reflections for context! Sorry, I am too full of delicious Szechuan Beef Brisket with real Szechuan peppercorns, Pineapple Fried (and I mean fried that was FIRE πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯) Rice, and the most succulent tomato-based pork dumpling soup to thinking straight for a quality review. Go here. Inexpensive yet elegant perfection.

I absolutely LOVE the velveted chicken and shitake mushroom Claypot rice. Its made fresh to order so you have to wait about 15 minutes, but it's worth every minute! I also like the more unique Chinese style thicker dumplings. They have a nice bite and chew that is very satisfying. The pork with Chinese chives is my favorite 😍 The mapo tofu is perfect for people that love that numbing tingling spice and creamy savory flavors. I think you need to have patience when it comes to service. They only ever have one server, and she's doing her best. I would recommend coming here with no rush. Just focus on enjoying yourself and then you will!

I am sorry to write a bad review on a locally owned restaurant like this, but I have to. I don't know if it's because I am not used to the flavors of this cuisine as someone who's never had Sichuan style Chinese food, or if there is actually something wrong with the preparation, but the food was not good at all. Dumplings were very doughy, dry on the inside, and tasted like nutmeg with no other flavor. I understand that the red oil is a part of the food culture now, but I think there should be some sort of warning that the food comes absolutely swimming in red chili oil. On the menu photos there's no sign of red oil so it was quite the shock. The oil was very spicy, and smelled and tasted foul. I don't like any kind of chili oil and if I knew all three of the dishes we ordered were going to come with two or three ladles of it I would have gotten something else. The sweet and sour spare ribs were very tasty but I had to wipe off the foul oil before eating them... Cabbage and pork belly was inedible because of the oil... Black pepper beef had great flavor but I could only eat the pieces that weren't covered in oil. I could've not liked this meal because I'm not used to the cuisine,

I love Chinese and Asian food so much- we were excited to try this place. First off the service was not starting off good. The server did not know English very well and she was not able to explain to me anything about any of the dishes and she had tried nothing so had no idea what was good. we ordered chicken fried rice twice fried pork and Szechuan beef. For $14 the chicken fried chicken had a very small portion and had the tiniest pieces of chicken I’ve ever seen and hardly any at that. the Szechuan beef had the oiliest sauce I’ve ever seen. Pure oil. Onion and beef with bones in it. I tried it and it had hardly any flavor and what spice they did use, tasted more Indian than Chinese. Gross. Then the twice fried pork looked more like pieces of pork belly, and it was completely doused in oil again. Like a half inch of oil on my plate. Not that flavorful either- Never seen anything like it. I asked my server if the dishes were always so oily since me and my husband were extremely disappointed and she said yes and just walked away. We had to ask the server to get drinks twice because we couldn’t find her so my husband had to go out physically ask her both times we needed a drink. The
